Todd Cordell: New Jersey Devils: Cory Schneider Flawless In 2-1 Over Rangers - Todd.Cordell
- Adam Larsson really impressed me against the Rangers. He played almost 25 minutes and looked like a seasoned veteran. He was poised with the puck, made some good outlet passes and setup a few nice chances on the power play. Larsson showed a bit of edge, too, as he had a pretty big hit on Aaron Asham.
I was so pissed when you guys won the lottery that year
Though Strome was a good consilation prize . Larrson is going to be awesome. |

Anyone else think Gelinas was out of position on that goal we gave up ? Or is it just me. |

I wish when we won it the team moved to the first over all spot like now it bull that we moved from 7 or 8 to 4th but I am very happy Larrson is the guy we got. |

I don't know to me that goal was mostly Kinkaid and just rolling all over the place and being so damn hectic instead of slowing it down but thats just my opinion. I feel like he could of covered it a few times in that scramble and it would of been blown dead but he was to busy doing snow angels lol |

Schneider was outstanding last night. The only thing I noticed was his puck handling was not that great. Im sure Marty will teach him to become a better puck handler.
Gelly will make the team in my mind. Great from the point, as he showed last night, and great defensively. He is a pretty big body too which is good.
I dont see teddy making the team. Dont get me wrong I like the kid but the devils have a lot of depth and now that Brunner has made his way into town I dont see Teddy making the team.
JJ really needs to step his game up. Its great and all that he can win the face off but he needs to start putting up points.
Any word yet who will be playing thursday night? |

Liked what i saw from the young guys. Lokti, Jo, Teddy, Gelinas and Urbom all had strong games. Very few mistakes from all of them. Teddy looked very confident when he had the puck on his stick and did look like he was harder to knock around out there. Sucks that if Brunner is signed and Dman pushes a vet out there will be no room for some guys.
Olesz wasn't very impressive and I was very disappointed with Fayne, Volch and Harrold all the young D looked much better out there. |

Just he was at the top of circle when all that scrambling was going on or at least it seemed like it. Hard to tell though haven't seen a good highlight but I thought it looked like he was running around a little. I liked what i saw from him don't take it the wrong way. |

From a life long (30+ years) Canucks fan ... glad to hear Schneider was great for you guys! I know there is a high goal tending bar in NJ but I think you all will be very happy with him.
Good luck this season! |

That sounds like he was out of position then. If your goalie is scrambling for the puck, both your defenders should really be there helping him. |

I think will be very happy with him as well. Even though it was preseason he was very impressive. Had to make a few big saves for us and he robbed richards on the PP. |

Feel like Gionta has proven his worth to this team. They look different without him when he got hurt (energy, PK, leadership etc.) |

There is no way Josefson should be on this team. - jersey1414
If it wasn't for gionta, he'd be fourth line center |

You're probably right. I just don't get the support Josefson gets. I know he's young and he was a high draft pick and all, but what has he ever done? When has he shown even moments of promise? He's always hurt and provides no offense...he is a complete non-factor when he's out there. |

I don't think you understood what I was saying.
If he never turned into the player he is, or signed somewhere else or whatever, jj would be on the 4th line. |

We gotta unload some D. If Fayne, Harrold, and Volchenkov all make the team and Tedenby/JJ/Olesz don't I'll be sort of upset. |

Harrold won't be dealt. He's accepted his role as a fill-in (on offense too) and was signed specifically for that. Volchenkov would make the most sense to move if the Devils can find a team willing to take his contract. |

He has a NTC and I'm not sure he would be wiling to waive it. But if he does maybe if Lou kept some of the salary then it could happen. But if I had to guess anyone it would most likely be Fayne being dealt. |
